About ABOTA
The American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) stands as a prestigious, invitation-only organization comprising America’s top lawyers and judges. With members who represent both plaintiffs and defendants in civil cases, ABOTA recognizes attorneys who have demonstrated exceptional skill and distinction in trial settings. Founded in 1958, ABOTA's mission is to safeguard and uphold the rights guaranteed to all Americans by the 7th Amendment to the Constitution, most notably the invaluable right to a trial by jury.
In 1993, the Foundation of the American Board of Trial Advocates was created to serve as the organization’s educational platform, dedicated to enlightening the public about the rich history and significance of our civil justice system. Furthermore, ABOTA relentlessly promotes professional education to elevate the standards of legal professionalism, integrity, honor, and courtesy within the legal profession. Join us in preserving the fundamental rights that protect our democracy and strengthen our society.
